Women and youth economic empowerment Programs
The overall objective of economic empowerment program is to promote gender equality,
increase household income, reduce poverty and marginalization of women by enabling them
to become self-reliant, moreover Maasai women have experienced high levels of
marginalization, examples they lack of property ownership (including livestock), high
mortality rates, low levels of education, forced marriages, heavy workloads and physical
suffering which makes the Maasai women among the poorest in Tanzanian society. ECIO
empowering women and youth to take control of their own development through individual
income generating activities includes; Agriculture, livestock keeping, small business around
their areas. ECIO facilitates in the formation of the income generating groups of women
and youth and supporting them with business knowledge that could help them determining
and grab the available opportunities around their locality.
Sponsor a Student
A sponsor changes lives. Education changes everything.
Sponsorship is a long-term commitment to the complete education of a student
through vocational school, college, or university. Sponsors receive a photo of their
student every year, and can exchange letters with her and if a visit to Tanzania is in
your travel plan, you will be able to meet her and visit her school as well.
The total annual cost to sponsor a student
Primary (class 1-7)- $1,000
Secondary (form 1-4) – $1,000
Postsecondary (vocational, college, university)- $2,000
